Promotion of the much anticipated new autobiography by Warwickshire and England cricketer Jonathan Trott is playing out to big audiences in a dynamic advertising campaign across the Elonex digital network.
In an exclusive advertising deal, the book’s launch promotion is being broadcast on Elonex roadside digital screens close to Trott’s home ground of Edgbaston, and on Elonex digital screens located in shopping centres throughout the UK where the autobiography will be available.
The creative for the campaign is hard hitting and to the point, and will certainly grab attention by capturing the essence of what readers can expect to find in the book. Locations broadcasting the campaign include Europe’s biggest roadside digital billboard at junction 9 on the M6, digital screens close to Birmingham City Centre and at some of the UK’s best known shopping centres.
Trott’s autobiography, UNGUARDED, will be published on 29th September 2016.
UNGUARDED is a revelatory memoir of Trott’s time in the England team, which charts the massive highs and extraordinary lows of a sportsman seemingly at the top of his game.
During his England career, Trott rose to become one of the best batsmen in world cricket and was pivotal in the team’s ascendancy to the number 1 ranked Test team in the world.
Success came at a cost though, and with relentless pressure weighing heavy, Trott’s England career came to an abrupt end, at least that’s how it appeared from the outside, when he left the 2012-13 Ashes tour of Australia suffering from a stress-related illness.
In his autobiography, Trott provides unique insight on a remarkably successful period in English cricket, and candidly discusses the factors that lead to his time in the team coming to an end.
Commenting on the exclusive advertising deal, Jonathan Trott said:
“Choosing Elonex to conduct the outdoor advertising campaign for my autobiography ‘UNGUARDED’ was a really easy decision. The company is an official partner to Warwickshire County Cricket Club and has always been supportive to me as an individual.
“I am grateful to have such fantastic support from Elonex as this will ensure the book will receive maximum coverage and awareness in and around Birmingham, whilst also opening up the best opportunity to target specific shopping outlets around the country.”
Adam Stockton (pictured above with Jonathan Trott), Managing Director at Elonex, added:
“We’re excited to be carrying promotion of Trotty’s new autobiography. It’s another coup for both us and the Digital Out of Home advertising industry in general. The dynamic and real-time nature of digital outdoor advertising fits well with the audience this book is sure to attract, it’s great to be pushing a local hero’s message throughout his home town and we’re sure the activity will maximise publicity and deliver a real boost to sales.
“At Elonex we’ve long been involved with high profile sport and enjoy strong relationships in professional cricket, but this is the first time we’ve exclusively promoted a sporting autobiography and it’s great to see the campaign live and grabbing attention!”
In addition to broadcasting promotion of UNGUARDED, Elonex was Trott’s official bat sponsor as he steered Warwickshire to victory over Surrey in the Royal London Cup Final at Lords on Saturday 17th September 2016.
Following an impressive display by the Warwickshire bowlers that reduced Surrey to 136 all out after they had won the toss and elected to bat first, Trott opened the innings for The Bears and struck a classy 82 not out to ease the team to victory and earn Man of the Match at the showpiece finale of cricket’s domestic season.
