Big crowds visiting Birmingham can look forward to lots of extra festive sparkle this Christmas, as a stunning seasonal network of Elonex digital screens gets set to light up the busy streets in and around the City Centre.
The seasonal screen network will fulfill Birmingham City Council’s desire to include digital broadcast content at key visitor locations in the City and add to its extraordinary Christmas spectacle.
Content broadcasting on the digital screens will include vital visitor information, wayfinding messaging and Christmas advertisements from Birmingham-based retailers, businesses and charities.
The screens are to be placed at the heart of Birmingham’s retail, entertainment, gastro and business districts, with attractions including the Frankfurt Christmas Market and the Big Wheel and Ice Rink on Broad Street also getting unmissable digital displays.
The network of seasonal screens goes live on 17th November to mark the opening of the Frankfurt Christmas Market and the 50th anniversary celebrations of the signing of the Frankfurt-Birmingham Partnership Agreement.
Visitors to Birmingham will then be able to enjoy the screens broadcasting festive content right through the Christmas period until 29th December.
This is the third consecutive year Elonex has worked with the City Council to install digital screens as part of the Birmingham’s Christmas events, and due to success in the past this year will see double the number of screens in the City Centre.
Commenting on the seasonal digital screen network, Adam Stockton, Managing Director at Elonex said:
“We’re delighted to be working with Birmingham City Council again and helping them to deliver an enhanced visitor experience of the City over Christmas.
“As a Birmingham-based company it’s always an honour to be involved in a major home town project, and I’m sure, as in previous years, the Elonex screens will prove a big hit with the millions of people who flock into the City Centre over the festive period.”
