A service taking place at Birmingham Cathedral to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of the Battle of the Somme is to be broadcast live outdoors on an Elonex big screen, to enable as many people as possible to join in with remembering the service and sacrifice of those who fought at the battle.
The big screen will be located in Cathedral Square, Birmingham for the service that starts at 11am on Friday 1st July 2016.
Service personnel will join civic dignitaries, community and faith leaders, local school pupils, employers, charities and MPs at the service by invitation only, whilst the big screen will relay events immediately outside to the wider public.
For several days in the lead up to commemoration service, the Elonex big screen has been located in Cathedral Square broadcasting information about the Battle of the Somme and supporting a number of related activities that have taken place in Birmingham arranged by the British Army.
By way of providing additional support and to ensure maximum public awareness, Elonex is also to broadcast Battle of the Somme commemorative messages across its entire outdoor digital network throughout the whole of Friday 1st July.
