New Contract Marks a Decade of Exclusive Advertising at Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market

Elonex has been awarded a new three-year contract to operate digital advertising screens at Birmingham’s iconic Frankfurt Christmas Market.

Awarded by Birmingham City Council, the new contract marks the tenth consecutive year Elonex has installed and managed exclusive advertising space inside the market.

The long-term nature of the agreement allows Elonex to offer advertisers, from local independent businesses to national and global brands with Birmingham presence, the chance to lock in budgets and secure advertising at one of the UK’s most high-profile festive venues on a multi-year basis.

Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market, widely billed as the largest authentic German-style Christmas market outside Germany and Austria, draws more than 5.5 million visitors to the city each year.

This huge upturn in footfall arrives during the most crucial retail trading period of the year, making the market a significant driver of economic activity in the city. Independent research suggests the market contributes £350 million to the local economy when accounting for visitor spending across hospitality, retail and accommodation.

The Elonex exclusive advertising offering at Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market comprises 12 digital screens at key footfall locations, all operational for the full 54-day duration of the market (1st  November to 24th December).

 

Screen locations are as follows:

 

Victoria Square: Six digital screens located around the city’s principal Christmas tree, placing brands at the very heart of market footfall.

 

New Street Market Entrance: Dual-sided D48 screens situated at the primary gateway into the market and city centre, targeting high dwell-time pedestrian traffic.

 

New Street Central: Four digital screens surrounding the Christmas tree located in the busy central corridor of New Street, directly outside the Apple Store.

 

All locations are chosen for their heavy footfall and dwell time. The Frankfurt Market zone sits between flagship retail destinations and leisure-driven evening traffic, meaning brands gain exposure not only to visitors drawn by the market, but to shoppers ready to spend in the run-up to Christmas.
