The 2015 Royal London One-Day Cup gets underway this weekend, and Warwickshire’s dream of a return to Lords to contest the final is being fully backed by new team shirt sponsors, Elonex.
Warwickshire face Notts Outlaws on Saturday and Middlesex Panthers on Sunday in two away fixtures marking the start of domestic cricket’s showpiece 50-over competition, in which the Bears have narrowly missed out in the final at Lords for two out of the last three seasons.
And with expectations high and the team starting out as one of the favourites to win the competition, Birmingham-based Digital Technology experts Elonex have backed the Bears to return to Lords and pick up the trophy, by sponsoring this year’s one-day team shirt.
Elonex, who are also Official LED & Technology Partner and Exclusive Sales Partner for LED advertising at Edgbaston Stadium, have agreed this new deal following on from sponsoring the Bears T20 Blast winning team back in 2014.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Nick Smith, CEO at Elonex said:
“We’re excited to be backing Warwickshire on another quest for silverware. The 50-over team has been fantastic over recent years, and I’m sure if they make it to Lords this time they’ll overcome that final hurdle and bring the cup back to Birmingham.
“Whilst working closely with the club to deliver the latest in stadium technology, it’s always great to back the Bears when they’re out in the middle. Sponsoring last year’s T20 Blast winning team was full of thrills and spills, so if the Elonex branded shirts the team wore in that competition were in some way a lucky charm, we’re really hoping they prove to be the same in the 2015 Royal London Cup!”
Elonex lead the market in the world of Digital Out of Home technology and has a long history of delivering digital advertising solutions at major sports stadiums, shopping malls, entertainment venues and on large format LED roadside screens.
This new sponsorship is the latest in a string of high profile agreements Elonex has struck in the world of professional sport, and follows recent confirmation of the firm becoming the Official Visual Technology Partner and Exclusive Sales Partner for Digital Advertising at Northampton Saints Rugby Club.
