Elonex Outdoor Media is driving an innovative method of support for their official charity partner Cure Leukaemia. Elonex has supported the blood cancer charity since 2014, and whilst the company is never shy of fundraising the traditional way they have also helped the charity broadcast their messages and increase awareness of the work they undertake to millions.
Campaign messages and news of major fundraising events from Cure Leukaemia have been and continue to be broadcast across the Elonex network of roadside digital screens in the West Midlands, including on the giant LED screen at junction 9 of the M6, which is the biggest of its kind in Europe. This has seen Cure Leukaemia receive more than 1million advertisements, which have been viewed by an audience in excess of 55million, during each year of the partnership.
Adverts for the charity’s events including the London 2 Paris cycling event, Glynn Purnell’s Friday Night Kitchen, the Great Birmingham Run, the Club Legends Cup football tournament and the Brindleyplace Dragonboat Festival have all been broadcast across the Elonex roadside screens since the partnership began.
The ‘Just One More’ campaign during September 2015 was given prominent air time helping Cure Leukaemia achieve its goal of raising £40,000 to fund a specialist research nurse for a year during blood cancer awareness month.
Elonex has also given the charity use of their mobile digital screens for use at launch events, and provided advertising airtime when the mobile screens have been deployed at major events such as the Edgbaston Ashes Test Match and Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market.
Messages from Cure Leukaemia have also been seen on Elonex digital screens in local shopping centres and at the Barclaycard Arena.
As the relationship has grown, Elonex has also benefitted from introductions to local businesses through Cure Leukaemia. This new business prompted the company to implement their innovative partners scheme which sees a percentage of any new business secured through introductions by the charity donated straight back to Cure Leukaemia.
Managing Director at Elonex Outdoor Media, Adam Stockton, who is showing his personal support by riding London 2 Paris: Inspiring the Revolution in May, to raise funds for Cure Leukaemia, said:
“Elonex is passionate about the life saving work Cure Leukaemia is involved in, and proud to support such a fantastic cause. Our partners scheme hopefully highlights how there are many different ways businesses can support a charity, it isn’t always about running, cycling and dinners although I am signed up for the ride to Paris this May! We will continue to help Cure Leukaemia’s message reach as many people as possible because we believe in the work it supports.”
Cure Leukaemia’s head of corporate partnerships, Jackie Kelly said:
“The magnificent support Cure Leukaemia has received from Elonex Outdoor Media is innovative and highly effective. They are paving the way for other businesses to follow by highlighting the different ways in which they can support Cure Leukaemia. We would be delighted to meet with any Midlands businesses that would like to learn more about Cure Leukaemia and develop a relationship going forward.”
