Businesses entering a team at this year’s Brindleyplace Dragonboat Festival have been given an extra incentive to maximise fundraising for the event’s chosen charity, Cure Leukaemia, thanks to Elonex Outdoor Media.
Elonex has promised to match the amount raised by each of the top three fundraising teams with advertising to the same value on its outdoor digital screens across Birmingham.
The 2017 Brindleyplace Dragonboat Festival, sponsored by Deutsche Bank, takes place on Saturday 24th June, and for the third successive year all funds raised will go to Cure Leukaemia.
This year the event hopes to raise a record £100,000 for the Birmingham-based charity, and businesses taking part have all been busy over recent weeks securing sponsorships and donations.
The promise from Elonex to give businesses raising the most for Cure Leukaemia advertising to the same value is intended to spur on teams with their fundraising efforts and ultimately ensure the overall target of £100,000 is achieved.
Currently teams from Deutsche Bank and Harvey Nash lead the top fundraising totals, and they are being closely followed by teams from Jaguar Land Rover, West Midlands Combined Authority, Middleton Foods, Kind Group, Siamais and Colliers International.
Commenting on the Elonex promise, James Mclaughlin, Chief Executive at Cure Leukaemia, said:
“This is a fantastic gesture by Elonex and one that I hope inspires those taking part in the Dragonboat racing to go the extra mile with their fundraising efforts as we approach the event.
“Elonex has long been one of our Corporate Partners and this is typical of the support they have shown us over the years.
“It really does provide an extra boost to all involved in getting us to that £100,000 target, and as well as teams competing for the accolade of this year’s Dragonboat champions, those raising the most money can also look forward to seeing their adverts on Elonex digital screens all over Birmingham!”
