One of the Lawn Tennis Association’s showpiece events returns to Birmingham in June, with many the worlds’ top female tennis players competing in the Aegon Classic at the Edgbaston Priory Club. The tournament, which has previously been won by Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova and Maria Sharapova and this year has been upgraded to a WTA Premier 600 event, will also play host to an exhibition match on finals day as British Tennis stages a second Rally Against Cancer charity event – ‘Rally For Bally’ in support of Elena Baltacha, the former British No. 1 who recently died of liver cancer. The Aegon Classic is a major date on the UK’s sporting calendar, and the event organisers have been taking advantage of One Outdoor Media’s key digital locations in the Midlands to promote ticket sales.
