Warwickshire Sees Twenty20 Vision with Elonex in Seven-Year Agreement

July 2, 2013

With the Warwickshire Bears set to begin their 2013 Friends Life t20 campaign tonight against Glamorgan in Cardiff, live on Sky Sports, the Club has secured a new seven-year deal with global technology firm Elonex to be the Club’s Official LED & technology Partner.
As part of the new deal, Birmingham-based Elonex will take branding on the front of the t20 playing shirt and is planning to install several of its digital products in and around Edgbaston Stadium to enhance the customer experience. Elonex’s outdoor media brand, One Digital Solutions has also taken branding on the front of the Club’s Yorkshire Bank 40 shirt for the 2013 season.
Nick Smith, Chief Executive of Elonex, said:

“Working with the current County Champions is a great opportunity for Elonex and having recently transformed Edgbaston through a major redevelopment project, we’re very excited to showcase our range of digital products in one of the UK’s finest sporting venues.”

Warwickshire’s Edgbaston Stadium recently hosted five matches, including the Final of the ICC Champions Trophy. However, later this summer it is set to become the UK’s home of Twenty20 cricket as it hosts the first of four successive Friends Life t20 Finals Days; domestic cricket’s marquee event.
Gareth Roberts, Commercial Director at Edgbaston, said:

“Twenty20 cricket is a great spectacle and this year Warwickshire have got some great fixtures in July, with two games on Saturday’s and a Friday night clash with our local rivals Worcestershire on 26th July. However, from next year we expect the tournament to grow in popularity, with seven home fixtures spread out over the course of the season, and the majority of these set to be played on Friday nights.
“Elonex are leaders in the world of digital technologies and by working with them over the next seven years we expect to revolutionise our experience for spectators, sponsors and conference & events delegates, as well as working towards our goal of becoming the world’s leading cricket business.”
