High Risk Public Locations Offered Free Digital Bomb Proof Recycling Bins

September 1, 2016

At a time when the threat from international terrorism in the UK and across Europe is severe, and safety in crowded areas a major concern, technology manufacturer Elonex is supplying innovative bomb proof recycling bins, which are fitted with information broadcast digital screens, free of charge to high risk public locations.
Designed to withstand and contain the blast of a terrorist’s bomb so its intended devastation and cause of injury is neutralised , the bomb proof recycling bins massively increase security in public places and with the built in digital screens can be used to convey immediate messages to the public, especially in times of emergency.
The digital bomb proof recycling bins also bring with them a practical solution to littering, which has been a problem since many normal waste bins were removed from public places for fear of explosive devises being concealed within them, and help to provide an environmentally friendly waste disposal solution. The built in digital screens on the sides of the bomb proof bins can also be utilised to broadcast public service information about the location where they are situated, and deliver promotional messages from local and national advertisers.
Likely locations for the digital bomb proof recycling bins include City Centres, Shopping Malls, Sports Stadiums, Theme Parks, Airports, Train Stations and Bus Terminals, from all of which Elonex is reporting huge take up.
With a manufacturing plant in Birmingham, Elonex is supplying the digital bomb proof recycling bins free of charge where partnerships are formed around the sale of advertising media on the digital screens. The firm’s Digital Out of Home advertising operation, Elonex Outdoor Media is being used to facilitate these partnerships to provide easy access and huge cost savings for locations that require the bins, which would ordinarily be priced at £32,000 each.
Commenting on the strategy of providing the digital bomb proof bins for free, CEO of Elonex Nick Smith said:
“We initially responded to market demand for a means to reduce littering whilst delivering high levels of security in busy public places. However, with each bin costing £32,000 we rapidly needed to come up with a way of making them financially accessible. Therefore, the digital screen aspect of the design allows us to work with locations to generate advertising income and immediately save on installation and maintenance expenditure.
“It is of course unfortunate that such a demand exists, but with such a significant threat of terrorism currently we hope we’re delivering solutions on many different levels. Public safety is obviously the number one priority in this initiative, whilst the ability to collect recyclable waste and deliver immediate public messaging all from the same unit, and all at zero cost, certainly solves lots of problems for numerous busy locations.”
The Elonex digital bomb proof recycling bins, which will soon be a common feature in public places all over the UK and Europe, have been subject to the most rigorous testing and conform to the strictest industry guidelines attached to blast resistant technology. The blast resistant materials used to manufacture the bins are the same as those found in military hardware such as warships and armored vehicles, and provide maximum ballistic and fragmentation protection. Approved by the Home Office and the MOD,  the design and technology of the bins carry multiple global patents and many of the world’s leading experts in ballistics and counter terrorism have been involved in bringing them to market.
